DISADVANTAGES

Just like advantages, there are several disadvantages of an MRI scan. Some of the limitations are: 

• People with pacemakers cannot have an MIR scan 
• People taking part in a MRI scans must stay still for long periods of time 
• Noise caused during the scan can harm patients tremendously 
• People with kidney disease must develop an incurable condition called Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF) from MRI dye
